Good spirits.
Good smiles.

Improving the smiles in the communities that we serve by providing funding assistance for quality dental care.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist adult Hoosiers gain access to quality dental care that they otherwise could not afford without assistance. Poor dental care has shown to inhibit economic opportunities, so we hope to support individuals with avenues to obtain proper dental care. Our goal is to help those in need establish a long-lasting dental relationship with their provider and cultivate a maintenance program for continuing care. Spirits for Smiles aims to improve the communities we serve one smile at a time.

Meet the Board.

Spirits for Smiles is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Indiana. We were founded by the late David Hartley of Indiana Liquor Group (ILG). ILG operates 57 retail package liquor stores in Indiana. David knew that he could leverage the footprint and scale of ILG to raise awareness and funds to assist Hoosier families that cannot afford quality dental care. ILG will host multiple fundraising events throughout the year with signature WhiskeyFest events that are held in the fall & winter months. We appreciate your support in making a meaningful positive impact.

How The Process Works.

  • Application period is open the first two weeks of every quarter.
  • Fill out online application.

    What you will need:

    1. Write a brief essay on how dental work would impact your quality of life, career, self-esteem, etc.
    2. Upload a Letter of Recommendation from a support coach in PDF or Word format. A support coach can be a medical professional, employer, therapist, etc.
    3. To be eligible for review, applicants must be 18 years or older and reside in the following counties in Indiana: Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Hamilton, Henry, Huntington, Howard, Jay, Jefferson, Johnson,  Madison, Randolph, Wabash, Wayne, Wells & White County.
  • After application period ends, all completed applications will be reviewed by the committee. The top ten most qualified applicants will be elected and contacted to move forward with the process.
  • The Patient Coordinator will provide guidance to elected applicants on how to schedule their own initial evaluation by a dental professional.
  • Once a dental care plan is submitted and approved by the committee, elected applicants will schedule their visit with our dental provider to have the work performed. 100% of all approved procedures will be funded by Spirits for Smiles.

She comes to us with several years of dental experience, previously serving as the Front Office Manager with Marion Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Marion, Indiana.

Funds are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Availability is limited.
We’d prefer that you use one of our community health center partners. We have a strategic partnership with these organizations and they provide outstanding care and very reasonable prices. However, if you cannot travel or simply prefer your local dentist, the Assistance Committee may authorize using the dentist of your choice.
