Meet the Board.

Spirits for Smiles is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Indiana. We were founded by David Hartley who is one of the owners of Indiana Liquor Group (ILG). ILG operates over 40 retail package liquor stores in Indiana. David knew that he could leverage the footprint and scale of ILG to raise awareness and funds to assist Hoosier families that cannot afford quality dental care. ILG will host multiple fundraising events throughout the year with signature WhiskeyFest events that are held in the fall & winter months. We appreciate your support in making a meaningful positive impact.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist adult Hoosiers gain access to quality dental care that they otherwise could not afford without assistance. Poor dental care has shown to inhibit economic opportunities, so we hope to support individuals with avenues to obtain proper dental care. Our goal is to help those in need establish a long-lasting dental relationship with their provider and cultivate a maintenance program for continuing care. Spirits for Smiles aims to improve the communities we serve one smile at a time.

Events.

Indiana Liquor Group (ILG) has created the premier series of signature events, WhiskeyFest, to engage with our VIP Loyalty Program customers and celebrate great whiskey while raising funds that benefit Spirits for Smiles. ILG events are currently paused due to state mandate that limits gatherings to 50 people or less. Please check back periodically to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

FAQ

How does the process work?

+

It’s a 3 step process.

1) Your request for assistance will be received by the committee and if approved,

2) you’ll schedule an initial evaluation by a dentist who will send the committee a plan of care along with costs. The committee will decide how much, if anything, to approve for assistance.

3) Once approved, you’ll schedule your visit(s) to the dentist to have the work performed. Spirits for Smiles will send funds directly to your care provider.

What are your requirements to request assistance?

+

The recipient must live in one of 12 counties (Wabash, Huntington, Grant, Blackford, Howard, Madison, Delaware, Henry, Hamilton, Wells, Randolph, and Jay) that Indiana Liquor Group currently operates within. Additionally, we are only supporting adults (18+) who cannot afford proper dental care.

What services does the charity fund?

+

Routine visits/cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, etc. Braces are not currently covered.

What are your operational expenses?

+

We have minimal operational expenses. The only overhead is allocated for our Patient Coordinator, Ashlee Carey. Ashlee attended Ball State University where she received a degree in Criminal Justice. She comes to us with several years of dental experience, previously serving as the Front Office Manager with Marion Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Marion, Indiana.

Is there an age requirement?

+

We currently only support adults age 18 and above.

Is there a limit on funding assistance?

+

Funds are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Availability is limited.

Can I use my local dentist?

+

We’d prefer that you use one of our community health center partners. We have a strategic partnership with these organizations and they provide outstanding care and very reasonable prices. However, if you cannot travel or simply prefer your local dentist, the Assistance Committee may authorize using the dentist of your choice.

How can I get involved?
